Dentro de los textos, dedicados a la temática de la Audiología, era totalmente necesario la aparición de un libro que constituya una ampliación de ACÚSTICA que trata del sonido como tema fundamental, base de la audición (2.º sentido en importancia tras la Vista) y, por tanto, de la comunicación hablada. Se distinguirá entre sus aspectos físicos y psícofísicos, como la impresión que aquellos producen en nuestro interior. Por otra parte, estudiamos todos los aspectos de la AUDIOMETRÍA como conjunto de técnicas necesarias para medir y calibrar las posibles hipoacusias (sorderas) que puede soportar una persona, que, sin la ayuda necesaria (audífonos) contribuye a su aislamiento social y familiar, haciendo más aburrida y solitaria la llamada 3.ª edad, y, algunas veces también la edad adulta. Se trata de hacerles a todos los estudiosos de esta temática más simple la aprehensión de algún concepto difícil como puede ser el de impedancia mecano-acústica del oído; así como, que abarquen de forma sencilla todo lo que pueda contribuir decisivamente a su formación como audioprotesista, profesor o alumno de estas escuelas que ya han aparecido por el territorio nacional.
